Hi Roberta! Please, tell us a little bit about yourself!

My name is Roberta, I live in Milan and I’m an architect, however I mainly work with interior design. When I was a teenager, I dreamt of creating homes. I’m happy to say that I managed to turn this dream into reality through hard work and commitment. I value simplicity and minimalism, in design and in life. I avoid excess and my surroundings consist of very few, important elements. The two most important being my son, Angelo and my studio apartment.

What are your workspace essentials?

I’m passionate about simplicity and I rely on a clean space with few elements. I always keep my laptop, an indispensable planner and a sketchpad within arm's length while working. Keeping it simple helps me stay focused.

How do you choose the pieces to surround yourself with?

I love minimalistic design and my stationary is Nordic in style. I love simple and neat graphic elements. When choosing pieces to bring home it’s important to me that they complement the existing objects already in the space.

What do you like most about Variable balans?

Variable balans is perfect for my studio apartment. I adore the minimalistic style and the new monochrome series is amazing. My apartment is composed of relaxing green accents so the Variable in the color Fern fits right in. My first impression of the chair was fantastic. Not only for its attractive design, but also for the comfort, which is equally important. I immediately placed it in my home office corner and the movement of the chair helps me concentrate while I work. The balancing qualities helps me relieve stress.

How do you incorporate movement into your daily life?

Movement is very important in my everyday life. I have a job where I sit down most of the time and I enjoy having the opportunity to move while I draw or work on new projects. Sitting on the Variable is a very relaxing experience compared to any static office chair. I also enjoy travelling a lot and I do so increasingly often for work. It’s nice to get a change of scenery by going to fairs, exhibitions and different events.
