Mie Firring's passion for creating sparked her journey into knitting and pattern making. With a focus on having fun and playfulness, she shares her unique patterns from her studio in Denmark with knitters around the world.
Mie has always had a desire to create. This urge has taken her through graphic design studies, a career as an art director in the advertising industry before pursuing her love for knitting full time. "Knitting is the perfect outlet for my ideas. There's nothing quite as satisfying as witnessing a project come to life. It allows me to slow down, unwind, and soothes my nervous system after a hectic day."
With substantial reach on social media, Mie shares her patterns with followers around the world. The patterns are easily recognizable, characterized by a playful and colorful aesthetic. "I find inspiration for my patterns in everything around me – from architecture to art and fashion. I'm constantly on the lookout for interesting textures, colors, and shapes that I can incorporate into my designs. I also love experimenting with different stitch patterns and techniques to create truly unique pieces."

Her studio, located in the center of Aalborg, is bright and airy with large windows which allows the light to fill the space. Here, Mie and her team of three, work on developing new designs and hosting workshops, surrounded by lots of greenery and displays of knitted sweaters and dresses.
“My ideal working surroundings are peaceful and bright. I love being surrounded by nature, so I try to incorporate elements of the outdoors into my studio space – whether it's a vase of fresh flowers or a potted plant on my desk.”
Nestled beside the work table is Move™, seamlessly blending into the bright interior with its beige leather upholstery. “Move™ has been a game-changer for me in the studio. I use it as my go-to chair when I'm knitting or working on patterns. It provides excellent support and allows me to maintain good posture when testing new yarns. The freedom of movement helps me to shift positions effortlessly and stay comfortable throughout the day.”
